Thanks to some generous donors in Montana's Hill County, 10 nonprofit organizations are getting a little something extra for the holidays.
The Hill County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Montana Community Foundation, has given out $700 in grants, ranging from $500 to $1,000, to Havre Trails, CASA of Hill County, Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen, Havre Area Chamber of Commerce, Natalie Patrick Foundation, Greater Havre Area Ministerial Association, Rudyard Community Commercial Club, Bear Paw Volunteer Fire Department, Havre Salvation Army, and the Arts and Beauti Committee of Havre Downtown Matters, reports the Missoulian.

Getting Out and Staying Out, co-founded by Tony Smith of the VSA Consulting Group, works to reduce recidivism rate among men at Rikers Island, New York City. The recidivism rate significantly dropped from 60-plus percent to under 20 percent, with more than a thousand men over a span of  eight years.
